A chrome fleur-de-lis reimagined through liquid metal, radial gradients, and the tension between ornament and abstraction.
ScrollThe fleur-de-lis has carried symbolic weight for centuries – sovereignty, purity, war banners, city crests. This series strips the ornament down to its sculptural form and wraps it in liquid chrome, placing it against shifting violet-to-coral gradients.
Each wallpaper explores a different relationship between the symbol and its space: repeated as a textile pattern, zoomed to the point of abstraction, suspended inside a glowing capsule, or floating in radial light.
The base symbol was modeled as a 3D chrome object with specular highlights and environment reflections. Backgrounds were built in layers – radial gradients overlaid with concentric ripple textures create a sense of depth that shifts depending on screen brightness.
The dark variant pushes the symbol into near-abstraction, where the fleur-de-lis dissolves into organic, biomechanical curves. The pattern variant treats it as a luxury textile motif scaled for a phone screen.
